UPSC CDS Examination (II) - 2014



Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is ready to conduct its Combined Defence Services Examination (II) 2014 to fill 464 vacancies under Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, and Officers Training Academy Posts. The date for examination is scheduled on 26 October 2014. The last date of submission of online application form is 18 August 2014. Those candidates who are interested into the post can apply online.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

    For IMA, the male candidates should not be born earlier than 2 July 1991 and not later than 1 July 1996 only.
    For Indian Naval Academy, the male candidates should not be born earlier than 2 July 1991 and not later than 1 July 1996 only.
    For Air Force Academy, the male candidates should not be born earlier than 2 July  1992 and not later than 1 July 1996 only.
    For Officers' Training Academy (SSC Course for Men), the male candidates should not be born earlier than 2 July 1990 and not later than 1 July 1996 only.
    For Officers Training Academy (SSC Women Non-Technical Course), the Unmarried Women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should not be born earlier than 2 July 1990 and not later than 1 July 1996 only.

Educational Qualification

    For IMA and Officer’s Academy: Degree from a recognized university/institute.
    For Indian Naval Academy: Degree in Engineering from recognized university/institute.
    For Air Force Academy: Degree of recognized university (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 Level) or Bachelor’s of Engineering.

Application Fee

The application fee is Rs 200 Only for General and OBC candidates while SC/ST/Female candidates are exempted from payment of application fee. The candidates can opt for net banking or by depositing the money in cash.

Selection Procedure

The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the written examination followed by Interview/Personality Test.

How to Apply

Candidates are required to apply On-line using the link www.upsconline.nic.in. Detailed instructions for filling up Online Applications are available on the above mentioned website.

The applicants are advised to submit only single application; however if due to any unavoidable situation, if he/she submits another/multiple applications, then he/she must ensure that application with the higher RID (Registration ID) is complete in all respects like applicants details, examination centre, photograph, signature, fee etc. The applicants who are submitting multiple applications should note that only the applications with higher RID (Registration ID) shall be entertained by the commission and fee paid against one RID shall not be adjusted against any other RID.


All candidates whether already in Government Service including candidates serving in the Armed Forces, Government owned industrial undertakings or other similar organizations or in private employment should submit their applications online direct to the Commission.
